How to Report Suspicious Activity

Recognizing and reporting suspicious activity is an important part of maintaining a secure operating environment.

Branch Users should remain alert to unusual transaction requests, potential fraud and unauthorized account activity.

Examples of Suspicious Activity

Potential warning signs may include:

  • A customer attempting to bypass required verification procedures.
  • Repeated requests to split transactions to avoid applicable limits.
  • Requests to process transactions using another person's account or identity without an acceptable explanation.
  • Unexpected changes to payment or wallet instructions.
  • Unusual transaction patterns or requests that do not match the information provided.
  • Suspected unauthorized access to a Branch account.

These examples are potential warning signs and do not automatically establish that suspicious or unlawful activity has occurred.

What Should You Do?

  • Do not bypass any verification or security requirements.
  • Follow your organization's procedures for handling unusual transactions.
  • Record the relevant transaction details using approved procedures.
  • Notify your Branch Manager or designated compliance contact.
  • Follow any additional instructions provided by your organization's compliance team.

Important

Do not independently investigate suspected criminal activity or disclose internal compliance reviews to unauthorized individuals.

Follow your organization's procedures regarding transaction restrictions, confidentiality and regulatory reporting.
